FOREST WILDCAT is 2008's Leading Sire of Stakes Winners, with TWELVE stakes winners (FOUR graded, SIX new in 2008) and earners of more than $3.2 million through June 22. His newest SW is sophomore colt CHITOZ (dam by Affirmed), record-setting wire to wire 1 1/4-length winner of Monmouth Park's June 22 Anderson Fowler S., going 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf in fractions of :21.92, :43.76, :55.62, and 1:01.85 to win by 1 1/2 lengths.
He sired NINE winners including THREE stakes winners on Memorial Day weekend. On May 24, CORAGIL CAT (dam by Metfield) scored his first graded stakes win by 3 lengths in the $100,000 Hanshin Cup H. (G3) at Arlington Park; while WILD GAMS (dam by Quiet American) annexed Philadelphia Park's $250,000 My Juliet S., and on May 26 at Lone Star Park; BROWNIE POINTS (dam by Forty Niner) captured the $200,000 Ouija Board Distaff H. (G3) on the turf as previously undefeated EUPHONY (dam by Smart Strike) ran third in the $100,000 Cinemine S., and sophomore colt ELITE WILDCAT (dam by Quiet American) won a $40,000 5-furlong turf maiden special-weight race at Delaware Park. CORAGIL CAT recorded back-to-back stakes victories in May, winning Arlington Park's Timeless Native S. in new track record time (one mile in 1:33.55) before his Hanshin Cup victory, and EUPHONY returned to finish second on the turf in the June 21 Little Treasure S.
His runners were burning up the racetrack in April too, with FIVE stakes horses and several prominent maiden and allowance winners including sophomore colt BEHINDATTHEBAR (dam by Runaway Groom), who merits classic consideration after his stretch-running victory in Keeneland's $325,000 Lexington S. (G2) following a 1 1/16-mile Santa Anita allowance win under a hand ride, multiple SW BROWNIE POINTS, second to undefeated ZENYATTA while defeating 2007 Eclipse champion GINGER PUNCH in Oaklawn Park's $500,000 Apple Blossom S. (G1), sophomore filly EUPHONY, victress in Oaklawn Park's $75,000 Instant Racing S. in her stakes debut following Oaklawn maiden and allowance wins earlier this year, sophomore filly LA WILDCAT (dam by Theatrical-IRE), wire to wire victress in the Meafara S. at Hawthorne Park, and juvenile colt MERKEL (dam by Silent Screen), wire to wire 3 1/2-length winner in his career debut on opening day at Keeneland.
FOREST WILDCAT has sired 54 stakes winners (16 group/ graded), 85 stakes horses, and earners of more than $33 million in his first eight crops to race. He is also the sire of additional 2008 SWs CHATAIN (dam by Red Ransom), 2 1/2-length victor in Gulfstream Park's $100,000 Hal's Hope H. (G3) for the second straight year, SALUTE THE SARGE (Silver Ghost), stretch-running winner of Santa Anita's San Miguel S. in his seasonal debut, and FOREST BLUE (dam by Cure the Blues), undefeated in four lifetime starts including the Forego S. at Turfway Park.
Multiple graded SW WILD GAMS has won 8 races (5 stakes) and $868,486, graded SW BROWNIE POINTS has amassed career earnings of $806,309, SALUTE THE SARGE now boasts an 8-4-2-0 record and earnings of $333,340, and CHATAIN has won six of 9 career starts and $276,330.
His 2008 juveniles include Keeneland maiden special-weight debut winner MERKEL; June 14 York first-start maiden winner WILDCAT WIZARD(dam by Valiant Nature), and 14 others sold at auction to date for an average of $152,175, led by a $375,000 OBS Select February colt and OBS March fillies for $425,000 and $300,000.
Leading 2008 sophomore runners include SWs BEHINDATTHEBAR, SALUTE THE SARGE, CHITOZ, EUPHONY and LA WILDCAT, and promising maiden special-weight winners RETURNING (dam by Broad Brush), in his career debut at Santa Anita, FOREST TRAIL (dam by Seeking the Gold), at Gulfstream Park, and 14 1/4- length maiden special-weight winner FAMILY CAT (dam by Mr. Prospector).
He enjoyed a banner season in 2007, with SIXTEEN stakes winners, 26 stakes horses (5 2-year-olds), and earners of more than $5.2 million, as his THIRTEEN 2007 juvenile winners included multiple graded SW SALUTE THE SARGE, winner of both Del Mar's Best Pal S. (G2) and the $114,900 Hollywood Juvenile Championship (G3) and second in both the the $250,000 Del Mar Futurity (G1) and the $250,000 Norfolk S (G1); additional SWs LA WILDCAT and SUPERFECTA; CHITOZ, second in the Kentucky Cup Juvenile S. (G3) following a 10 1/4-length turf maiden special-weight win at Monmouth Park, AFFIRMED CAT (dam by Affirmed), third in the 5 1/2-furlong Cinderella S. at Hollywood Park after winning by 2 her first career start (also at Hollywood Park), 9-length Aqueduct debut winner COUGAR HUNT (dam by Kingmambo), A SHIN FORWARD, debut winner at Kyoto, and FOOL'S WILDCAT (dam by Forty Niner), 4-length winner at Newbury.
His 2007 SWs also included a pair of stakes-winning fillies at the Keeneland fall meet. Multiple graded SW WILD GAMS scored under a hand ride in the $300,000 Thoroughbred Club of America S. (G3), while STYLISH WILDCAT set fractions of :21.51, :44.70, :57.10 and 1:03.71 for a front-running victory in the $114,900 Franklin County S. over 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf. WILD GAMS was runner-up in her previous start, the $400,000 Presque Isle Masters S., and returned to finish second by a neck in the Bessarabian S. at Woodbine. STYLISH WILDCAT was also a wire to wire 4-length victress in the Monterey H., going 5 furlongs on the turf in fractions of :21.66, :44.39, and :57.72 (just 2/5 off the course record), and further distinguished herself at Keeneland a few weeks later, topping her session of the November Mixed Sale with an $800,000 final bid.
Multiple 2007 SW CHATAIN earned a 104 Beyer Rating in his stakes debut as he won Gulfstream Park's $100,000 Hal's Hope H. (G3) in new track record time, going a mile in a speedy 1:33.87 while defeating graded SWs SIR GREELEY, SWEETNORTHERNSAINT, and STRONG CONTENDER, then added to his laurels with a victory in the William Livingston S. at Meadowlands, covering 6 furlongs in a speedy 1:08.58.
His 2007 Saratoga runners included new stakes winner NUNNERY, 2007 Graded SW and Saratoga allowance winner CHATAIN, and ATTILA'S STORM, placed in both the Forego S. (G1) and the $260,000 Alfred G. Vanderbilt H. (G2).
Leading 2007 older runners included graded stakes performers ATTILA'S STORM and WILD JAM (dam by Cahill Road), 1-2 in Aqueduct's $105,100 Toboggan H. (G3), multiple SW BROWNIE POINTS (dam by Forty Niner), winner of the $125,000 Iowa Distaff Breeders' Cup S. and placed in two 2007 graded stakes, Saudi Arabian-based FAIRLY WILD (dam by Woodman) victress in the 2000m Equestrian Club Cup (SA-G3), and WAUPACA (dam by Cormorant), third beaten less than a length in the $200,000 Dallas Turf Cup H. (G3). WAUPACA boasts a lifetime total of $555,906, ATTILA'S STORM has now earned $534,983, and WILD JAM, also winner or placed in five 2006 stakes including the Toboggan H. (G3), has earned $327,918.
FOREST WILDCAT also enjoyed a very successful 2006 season with ELEVEN stakes winners (NINE new) and earners of more than $4.5 million. In 2005, he sired TEN stakes winners, TWENTY stakes horses, and earners of more than $4.2 million.

A handy 2 3/4-length winner at Monmouth Park in her career debut at 2, WILD SNITCH (dam by Key to the Mint), coasted home under a hand ride for a 6 3/4-length victory in the $100,000 Sorority S. (G3), before finishing second to champion STORM FLAG FLYING in Belmont Park' $200,000 Matron S. (G1).

The market for FOREST WILDCAT'S offspring remains very strong. His 2008 auction juveniles have averaged over $152,000, led by a $375,000 OBS Select colt. In 2007, his yearlings averaged $81,755 including two $200,000 Keeneland September colts, and his auction juveniles included the $900,000 OBS March sales-topper, and Barretts colts for $500,000 and $300,000 (SALUTE THE SARGE-G2).
In 2006, his sales yearlings averaged $125,321, led by a $600,000 Keeneland September colt, Keeneland September fillies for $290,000, $260,000, and $220,000, and a $210,000 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky colt. Leading 2006 sales juveniles were a $450,000 filly and a $340,000 colt at Fasig-Tipton Calder.
His 2005 sales yearlings averaged $161,657, with Keeneland September individuals for $525,000 and $440,000. His summer yearlings averaged over $330,000 (Saratoga yearlings averaged $400,000), with individuals for $725,000 and $475,000.
His 2005 auction weanlings averaged $148,167, led by the $250,000 sales-topping weanling filly at Fasig-Tipton November, and a $250,000 colt at Keeneland November. In-foal mares averaged $100,000, with individuals for up to $190,000.
His 2005 auction juveniles include a $440,000 Keeneland April filly, a $360,000 Fasig-Tipton Calder colt, a $250,000 Barretts March filly, and a $210,000 Barretts March colt, while 2004 juveniles sold for up to $630,000.
His 2004 yearlings averaged $115,105 (summer yearlings averaged $275,000), with individuals for up to $475,000.
His 353 auction yearlings have averaged $107,157, with individuals for $675,000, $650,000, etc. His 132 auction juveniles have averaged $150,792, with individuals for $825,000, $630,000, $600,000 (D'Wildcat-G1), etc.
