BROOKDALE FARM, situated one mile from downtown Versailles, was founded in 1983 by Fred Seitz. He named the farm after the place where he was raised, a training farm near Lincroft, New Jersey. The original farm has since been converted into a community college and a state park, still bearing the name Brookdale.

Brookdale Farm was initially configured as a boarding and sales preparation operation, but has grown to become a full service breeding farm. Currently standing the multiple graded stakes-winning Storm Cat son Newfoundland, it has been home to such top stallions as two-time Leading Sire Deputy Minister, Crafty Prospector, Forest Wildcat and Silver Deputy. Nearly 80 seasonal and year-round boarding mares, and around 40 sales or race yearlings per year, currently reside at Brookdale.

Since 1983, Brookdale Farm has been the home of numerous Grade I winners and Graded Stakes producers, including Safely Kept, Exotic Wood, Twice the Vice, Ballade, Sweet Alliance, Brown Berry, Watch the Time, Diva's Debut, and Ivory Dawn, to name a few. The first crop of foals born at Brookdale (totaling 24) in 1984 included European champions Bluebird and Soviet Star, and three other stakes winners.

Brookdale sells over 200 horses annually as agent for clients from all corners of the world and is listed among the Top Ten Consignors at the major yearling and breeding stock sales.
