Brookdale Grad Candy Kitty Breaks Maiden at Saratoga

Candy Kitty (2,f, Lemon Drop Kid/Worthy Cat) broke her maiden on Sunday at Saratoga by going wire to wire in a MSW. The two year old filly led the entire race and was able to pull away in the stretch to win by 2 and a 1/4 lengths. In just three starts the filly now has updated earnings of $73,500.  She was bred in Kentucky by Jack Swain and was purchased in the 2012 Keeneland September Sale for $185,000 by Starlight Racing.

Brookdale/Foxborough Grad Rise Up Cruises in Stakes Debut at Mountaineer

Rise Up (2,c, Rockport Harbor/Appenzell) cruised to a 4 and 3/4 length win in the Mountaineer Juvenile Stakes (100k) on Saturday at Mountaineer. The 2 year old colt was making just his third career start and his first start on the dirt after winning at Presque Isle Downs back in June. He now has 2 wins in 3 lifetime starts with earnings of $88,900.  Rise Up was bred in Kentucky by Cottonwood Stables LLC.

Bold Curlin Wins Again at Presque Isle Downs

Bold Curlin (3,g, Curlin/ To the Brim) was back in the winner’s circle on July 28th after winning an Allowance Race at Presque Isle Downs by 2 lengths. The three year old now has 2 wins in 4 lifetime starts and updated earnings of $51,755.  He was bred in Pennsylvania by Two Sisters’ Farm, Inc and was sold at the 2011 Keeneland September Sale for $130,000.

Stopchargingmaria (2,f, Tale of the Cat/Exotic Bloom) cruised to a 5 and 1/2 length win on the opening day at Saratoga. The two year old filly went off as the favorite and never looked back after getting the lead at the beginning of the race. She is the first foal out of the stakes winning mare Exotic Bloom. She was bred in Kentucky by Harvey Clarke and Brookdale Farm.
