I’ll Have Another is one step closer to the Triple Crown after capturing the Preakness Stakes (Gr. I) on Saturday at Pimlico. I’ll Have Another sat off the pace for the majority of the race and was able to run down fellow Brookdale Grad, Bodemeister at the wire to win by a neck. The 3-year old Flower Alley colt was bred in Kentucky by Harvey Clark.

Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another along with Brookdale Grads Bodemeister and Cozzetti are three of the eleven horses entered in Saturday’s Preakness Stakes. Bodemeister was installed as the 8/5 morning line favorite and will be breaking from post position 7. I’ll Have Another was made the second choice at 5/2 odds and will break from post 9. New to the Triple Crown races is Cozzetti who will break from post position 11.

It was confirmed on Monday, that Kentucky Derby runner up Bodemeister will start in the Preakness Stakes on May 19th. Along with Derby winner I’ll Have Another and fellow Brookdale Grad Cozzetti who are also probable starters. Entries for Saturday’s race will be drawn later this week.
I’ll Have Another arrived Monday evening to Pimlico Racetrack. He was back on the track Wednesday morning for the first time since his Derby win. It looks to be a full field of 14 for next week’s Preakness Stakes at Pimlico with fellow Brookdale Grads Bodemeister and Cozzetti as possible runners.
On Saturday May 5th, Brookdale Grads I’ll Have Another (Flower Alley/Arch’s Gal Edith) and Bodemeister (Empire Maker/Untouched Talent) finished 1-2 in 138th running of the Kentucky Derby (Gr. I). I’ll Have Another passed Bodemeister in the stretch to win by 1 and 1/2 lengths. Both colts are graduates of the 2010 Keeneland September Sale. I’ll Have Another was bred in Kentucky by Harvey Clark while Bodemeister was bred in Virginia by Audley Farm.

Bodemeister (Empire Maker / Untouched Talent) turned in an impressive victory on Saturday winning the Arkansas Derby (Gr. I) by over 9 lengths. With the win, the 3 year old colt has enough graded stakes earnings to run in the Kentucky Derby on the first Saturday in May. Bodemeister is owned by Zayat Stables LLC and is trained by Bob Baffert. Bodemeister was bred in Virginia by Audley Farm and is a 2010 Keeneland September graduate.

Flashy Dresser (Flashy Bull / Saltnvinegar) had an impressive win in the Robert Hilton Memorial Stakes at Charles Town Races 250k. The three year old colt is owned and trained by Frederick J. Seitz and was bred in Kentucky by Ricky G. Smith.

Cozzetti (Cozzene /Lemon Drop Cello) ran 4th in the Arkansas Derby (Gr. I) on Saturday at Oaklawn Park. The 3 year old colt was bred in Kentucky by Soc. Agr. Santa Elena de Chimbarongo Ltd and is a 2009 Keeneland November Graduate.
