STOPCHARGINGMARIA Wins Breeders Cup Distaff (G1) (Video)

STOPCHARGINGMARIA (4,f, Tale of the Cat/Exotic Bloom) capped off her 2015 season the best way possible with a win in the 2015 Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) at Keeneland.  Sitting middle of the pack for most of the race, Stopchargingmaria took the lead at the stretch and was able to hang on and win by a neck over Stellar Wind. She has now earned $2,924,000 at the track and has 9 wins in 16 starts.  She was bred in Kentucky by Harvey Clarke and Brookdale Farm LLC and was born and raised at Brookdale.

Stopchargingmaria Wins Shuvee Handicap (G3) at Saratoga (Video)

Stopchargingmaria (4, f, Tale of the Cat/Exotic Bloom) earned another win at the Saratoga Race Course in the G3 Shuvee Handicap on Sunday. She battled down the stretch with Untapable but pulled away to win by a length.  Stopchargingmaria now has 4 wins in her 5 starts at Saratoga and a total of 8 wins in 14 career starts with earnings of $1,774,000.  She was bred in Kentucky by Harvey Clarke and Brookdale Farm LLC and was born and raised at Brookdale. WAR STORY third in West Virginia Derby (G2)

WAR STORY (3, g, Northern Afleet/Belle Watling) finished 3rd on Saturday in the G2 West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer. He was closing quickly down the stretch but just ran out of time to catch the leaders.  War Story now has earned $343,600 in just 8 starts. He was bred in Kentucky by Jack Swain III and born and raised at Brookdale Farm.  He is a graduate of the 2013 Keeneland September Sale.




Walk Close Wins G3 Modesty Handicap at Arlington

Walk Close (2011, f, Tapit/Spring Awakening) earned her first graded stakes win over the weekend in the Grade 3 Modesty Handicap at Arlington Park.  Walk Close now has 4 wins in 10 lifetime starts and earnings of $279,788.  She was bred in Kentucky by Brookdale Farm, Jon and Sarah Kelly, and Jack Swain and was born and raised at Brookdale Farm. She was purchased by Highland Yard in the 2012 Keeneland September Sale for $180,000.

Noble Bird Wins G1 Stephen Foster Handicap (Video)

Noble Bird (11, c, Birdstone/Anyhow) earned his ticket to the Breeder’s Cup Classic with his G1 winning effort in the Stephen Foster Handicap on Saturday night at Churchill Downs.  Coming off a 2nd place finish in the Alysheba Stakes (G2), Noble Bird took the lead at the final turn and was able to hold off a rally from Grade 1 winner Lea. Noble Bird now has 4 wins in just 10 starts and earnings of $531,278.  He was bred in Kentucky by Jack Swain and was born and raised at Brookdale Farm. Noble Bird was purchased as a yearling for $105,000 by Mark Casse for John Oxley at the 2012 Fasig-Tipton July Yearling Sale.

 

 


Blingismything Wins Wilshire Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita Park

Blingismything (5,m, Arch/ Dancing General) won by a nose on Sunday in the G3 Wilshire Stakes at Santa Anita Park. Coming off two third place efforts in the G2 Buena Vista Stakes and G3 Las Cienegas Stakes, Blingismything was able to rally along the rail and get up in time for her first graded stakes win. She now has 4 wins in 10 starts and earnings of $246,330.  Blingismything was bred in Kentucky by Jack Swain and is a graduate of the 2011 Keeneland September Sale.
