Storm Dixie, Dam of 4x G1 winner Princess of Sylmar, sells with Brookdale at FT November

Only one filly has ever won the Kentucky Oaks,  CCA Oaks, Alabama  and Beldame Stakes. Princess of Sylmar did  last year, defeating champions Beholder, Royal Delta and many others. Her dam, Storm Dixie sells at Fasig-Tipton November in foal to red-hot sire Tapit.  Storm Dixie, a stakes mare herself, sells as hip 143.

Grade 1 Winning Sarah Lynx (IRE) in the Fasig-Tipton November Sale

Hip 136 Sarah Lynx (IRE) beat the boys at Woodbine in the Pattison Canadian International in 2011 to earn her Grade 1 winning status. Having earned over $1million on the track, she would be a lovely addition to anyone’s broodmare band. She is in foal off a February cover to leading sire Street Cry (IRE).

Dam of Belle Gallantey and Half-Brother to be Offered at Fasig-Tipton November

Brookdale Sales is proud to be consigning the dam of multiple G1 winner Belle Gallantey and the filly’s half brother by Gio Ponti at the upcoming Fasig-Tipton November Sale.  Belle Gallantey is the second foal out of the mare Revealed (Hip 129) and is coming off Grade 1 wins in the Delaware Handicap and Beldame Stakes in two of her last three starts. The filly’s half brother (Hip 44) is by the Grade 1 winner Gio Ponti, whose first foals are yearlings this year.

Brookdale Grad Ready for Rye Breaks Maiden by 7 at Belmont

Ready for Rye (2,g, City Zip/Embroidery) broke his maiden impressively on Saturday at Belmont Park winning by 7 lengths in just his second start. In his first start, he was second to Carpe Diem who  last week won the Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1). Ready for Rye was bred in Kentucky by Soc. Agr. Santa Elena De Chimbarongo LTDA and was raised at Brookdale Farm. He was purchased by Chalk Racing at the 2013 Keeneland September Sale for $70,000.

Brookdale Selling First Foal of Pomeroys Pistol Monday

Trainer Amy Tarrant, who operates her own Ocala-based breeding and racing operation as Hardacre Farm, enjoyed one of her biggest successes on the track to date with homebred Pomeroys Pistol (Pomeroy), and will look for the star of her broodmare band to provide another big score in the Keeneland September sales ring next week. The bay took a trio of graded stakes races in 2011 and finished second in both the GI Prioress S., and GI Test S. en route to earnings of almost $575,000. Her first foal, a filly by Smart Strike, sells with Brookdale Sales as hip 153 Monday.

Brookdale’s Keeneland September Consignment

The Keeneland September Sale is right around the corner and we have an exciting group of yearlings in our consignment this year. We have the half siblings to stakes winners Candy Kitty, Please Explain, Walk Close and G3 winner Rise Up in our consignment. We are proud to offer the only yearling in the sale by world class stallion Dansili (GB) as well as offspring by top stallions Tapit, Smart Strike, Unbridled’s Song, Elusive Quality, More Than Ready, and Arch.

Walk Close and Wave the Flag 1-2 in Wild Applause Stakes

Brookdale raised fillies Walk Close (3,f, Tapit/Spring Awakening) and Wave the Flag (3,f, Empire Maker/Dancing General) finished 1-2 on Saturday’s Wild Applause Stakes (100k) at Belmont. The two fillies battled down the stretch with Walk Close winning by a nose.

Walk Close remains undefeated in 3 lifetime starts and was making her stakes debut on Saturday and now has updated earnings of $154,200.  She was bred in Kentucky by Brookdale Farm, Jack Swain, and Jon and Sarah Kelly and was sold at the 2012 Keeneland September Sale for $180,000 to Highland Yard LLC.

Wave the Flag was also making her stakes debut for owner and breeder Jack Swain III after breaking her maiden at first asking at the end of May. In two starts the filly now has earnings of $41,600.

Half-Sister to Stopchargingmaria Brings 510K at Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale

Stonestreet Stables LLC went to $510,000 to purchase the half-sister to this year’s G2 Black-Eyed Susan winner Stopchargingmaria at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale.  The two-year-old half sister by More Than Ready had the co-fastest filly breeze time on Wednesday in 10.1.  She was bred and owned by Harvey Clarke and Brookdale Farm.
