SILVER DEPUTY was pensioned from stud duty following the 2008 breeding season. From his first sixteen crops to race, he is the leading son of DEPUTY MINISTER by number of champions (7), stakes winners (75), and progeny earnings (over $72 million). He was North America's second-leading Juvenile Sire when his first crop arrived at the races in 1992, and twice ranked among North America's Top 5 sires.

His 2008 runners already include a dozen stakes horses and earners of more than $4 million, led by 2008 Grade 1 winner SPRING AT LAST (dam by Dynaformer), who became his sire's newest millionaire with a convincing win in Gulfstream Park's $500,000 Donn H. (G1); and sophomore sprinters J BE K (dam by Major Wager) and SILVER EDITION (dam by Meadowlake), who scored consecutive graded stakes exactas, running 1-2 in both the Jersey Shore S. (G3) at Monmouth Park and the Woody Stephens S. (G2) at Belmont.

J BE K has now won 5 of his 8 career starts and $427,200, He earned a 108 Beyer on Belmont S. day, setting fractions of :22.29, :44.89, 1:08.78 and 1:21.85 and pulling away to win the $250,000 Woody Stephens S. (G2) by 5 1/4 lengths, with SILVER EDITION closing strongly in second. J BE K captured the $150,000 Jersey Shore S. (G3) by 4 lengths in fractions of :21.46, :44.24 and 1:09.10, with SILVER EDITION finishing second, 6 lengths clear of the field.

J BE K's 2008 campaign also includes a wire to wire 5-length score in Aqueduct's $150,000 Bay Shore S. (G3) (100 Beyer) and a runner-up finish in the $150,000 Withers S. (G3) (101 Beyer) earlier this year.

He is also the sire of 2008 SWs SILVER KNOCKERS (dam by Two Punch), winner of Saratoga's August 28 Halfmoon S. and also third in the $100,000 Hurricane Bertie H. Last fall, his Keeneland September yearlings included individuals for $675,000 and $530,000, as well as the $475,000 session-topping filly on day 5, as his 2007 sales yearlings averaged $126,964, and 2007 in-foal mares averaged $100,500.
